Explore the beautiful Kentish coastline with its stunning scenery, sunsets, historical buildings and landmarks. The neighbouring town of Whitstable offers a working harbour with boat trips out to the Forts and Wind Farm. Whitstable is most famous for its oysters! and holds a festival annually in July.

For those more energetic there are a multitude of cycle and walking opportunities as well as water sports, golf and fishing.

The Royal St.Georges Golf Course & cinque ports of Sandwich are approx. 15 miles. With the Ports of Dover /, Folkestone, within easy driving distance, for trips across the channel to France.

Honey Lodge and Honey Cottage is an ideal base for touring, with train stations to London Victoria approx. 55 minutes. Herne Bay and Canterbury have a full range of shopping facilities as well as the famous Cathedral and other Historic Buildings, Theatre, and boasts excellent restaurants within the City Walls.

Blean is located just 4 miles from the Catherdral city of Canterbury, in semi rural countryside, country lanes and woodland for walking,and yet not isolated . Blean Woods are the largest in Kent and, in addition to their intrinsic interest as ancient woodlands they surround a not only HONEY COTTAGE and HONEY LODGE but also a number of attractive villages with pubs, where you can eat and drink, places to visit and local businesses where you can buy a range of local products.

A bus stops along the road from the Cottage ,enabling you to get to all the surrounding villages, towns and beaches of Herne Bay and Whitstable.

The medieval town of Faversham is approx 20mins away,as is Margate,Ramsgate,Broadstairs. There are several golf courses within 10mins drive.

Supermarkets in Herne Bay and Whitstable 10mins. Local village shop in Blean within 10 minutes walking distance-.

If you want to see a magnificent beach sunset whilst enjoying a fabulous meal then visit the Pearson’s Arms public house in Whitstable only 4 miles from the Cottage.

Whitstable has been named the country's best 'gastro beach' by an up-market magazine which says the East Kent town is the top seaside spot for foodies, alive with theatregoers, film buffs and those enjoying a relaxing drink ...

Why not visit Druidstone Park, Whether your interested in meeting many friendly animals, having fun in the adventure play areas, admiring the unique collection of sculpture in the ArtPark, finding peace and tranquillity in the enchanted woodland walk with giant toadstools, dragons, goblins and white deer, or just relaxing in the idyllic surroundings of the park gardens you won't be disappointed Visit around Easter time and you will be astounded by the fabulous display of bluebells in the woodland. All of this within 3 minutes walk from the cottage.
