Tankerton is located just 1 mile from the Whitstable.

Whitstable lies on a part of the Kent coastline that has been associated with fishing and most notably with oysters for nearly 2,000 years. Fisherman’s huts still stand on the beach and around the working harbour where you can purchase the local catch and sample the most famous oysters.
The Harbour, built in the 1830’s, is still a commercial port and early risers can watch the day’s catch being unloaded from the fishing boats before eating it later in the day in one of the many popular seafood restaurants
Harbour Street is lined with an array of boutiques, delicatessens, art galleries, restaurants and Peter Cushings regular,The Tudor Tea Rooms.
Whitstable celebrates each year in July with a Regatta on the Tankerton Slopes ,The First Saturday in August see's the towns Carnival parade through Tankerton on into Whitstable. The Whitstable Oyster Festival is held annually for a whole week in July and is not to be missed.

A bus stops along the road from Sunset Loft, enabling you to get to all the surrounding villages, towns and beaches of Herne Bay and Whitstable.

The medieval town of Faversham is approx 10mins away,as is Margate,Ramsgate,Broadstairs. There are several golf courses within 10mins drive.

Whitstable has been named the country's best 'gastro beach' by an up-market magazine which says the East Kent town is the top seaside spot for foodies, alive with theatregoers, film buffs and those enjoying a relaxing drink...

Girly Weekend At Sunset Loft

Gemgem Essex
Review Submitted: October 26, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
I went to Sunset loft with 7 other girls to enjoy a relaxing and fun girly weekend.
We had first been attracted to the loft because of the hot tub, and it didn't dissappoint. When we first arrived we were so impressed with the way the flat looked and how well presented it was, the welcome hamper is a very nice touch too. The hot tub looked amazing and it didn't take us long to get in there and try it out.

Sunset loft had everything we were looking for, the shops are very close so we stocked up on food and wine from the local tesco , (although a few basics were already provided form the owners), and ordered local take away that we ate whilst ejoying the heat from the log fire and watching chick flicks on the huge projector screen.

We venture to whitstable high street and beach on the sunday daytime, the town is beautiful and has quite a oldy worldy friendly feel to it, with lots of interesting shops, we particularly liked the pink flamigo for clothes and bag etc. The beach is well kept and we enjoyed walking along it.

Overall We all had an amazing weekend and Michelle and Chris, the owners of the lof,t were just a pone call away and quite happy to help if we had any questions.

Superb apartment in an ideal location for exploring the area. It was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated with great extras such as 96" projection screen TV. and hot tub.
All rooms were very comfortable and a real pleasure to return to after a day sightseeing.
The welcome basket and flowers were a real nice touch and appreciated.
We will certainly be returning in the future and will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.
An enjoyable holiday in a wonderful apartment, strongly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

Perfect apt for a relaxing Whitstable holiday

SHP London, UK
Review Submitted: October 21, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
A very lovely apartment indeed and like many others, we found that it was a convenient base to explore the town from. We made full use of the facilities including the barbeque, hot tub, and projection TV. As we didn't drive, the proximity to the rail station (15-20mins walk), tesco express, town centre etc was a big plus. We had lunch at the Crab and Winkle with its fresh selection of seafood. Highly recommended!

Fabulous apartment and a perfect location for exploring the Kent coastline. The apartment was very spacious and provided plenty of room for our party of 6 plus 2 babies! All rooms were finished to a very high standard with no expense spared!!!! this included a fabulous projector screen televsion and an amazing roof terrace with hot tub and barbecue. Every last detail was catered for. Michelle was fantastic and made us all feel very welcome with a fantastic welcome pack on arrival. I would strongly recommend the apartment to anyone considering visiting Whitstable.

A Delightful Holiday by the Sea

Ladygrey Peterborough
Review Submitted: September 6, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The apartment was absolutely lovely, especially the hot tub! The whole place was decorated perfectly and had all the little extras you could want including a welcome basket, selection of d.v.d's and board games. It was very spacious and would be perfect for everyone from families to couples on a short break.

The Loft was a great base to explore the surronding area. There was plenty to do in Whitstable which is only a short walk away and had some great restaurants (try the tapas). It is also a good base for exploring around Kent with Canterbury within biking distance.

Overall we had a wonderful stay and will be recommending it. We are looking forward to a return visit as a week just wasn't enough!

Fabulous secret retreat

We stayed here for the August bank holiday and loved every second. We had planned to go out exploring but the apartment was so nice that we found ourselves spending the majority of our time there.

The bbq and hot-tub are a great combination and the bed gave us some of the best nights sleep we have had in ages. Mind you, perhaps the bottle of wine in the welcome hamper helped that too!

A great location for walks along the beach, mornings wandering around Whitstable and days to surrounding tourist hotspots such as Canterbury. We have every intention of returning just as soon as we can think up a special occasion to warrant another trip away!

We had a fantastic holiday in this lovely, well equipped flat with all our needs catered for.Great customer service from Michelle and Chris who provided a great welcome hamper. Our kids loved the 96in' projector screen and we really appreciated relaxing in the hot tub after our trips into London-rail links excellent and reliable.Whitstable is a lovely town and Canterbury is also worth a visit with good selection of shops and restaurants.Slight problem with early morning traffic noise if you're a light sleeper. However would be happy to recommend to friends and family.
-------------------------------------------------------

Very good standard accommodation with excellent welcome hamper and high level of finish in all rooms. The children hardly left the hot tub and the adults enjoyed it too! The location looked uninviting from the outside, but once inside, we were delighted with the very high standard of fittings and thoughtful touches, such as additional towels for the hot tub and a very well equipped kitchen. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach and is well planned. We had a lovely holiday and I would reccommend it again. The tub and terrace were lovely and it was just a shame the weather stopped our planned BBQ on new gas BBQ; very well arranged outside area. Excellent standard. 17.07.09-19.07.09

"Lovely break in this newly refurbished and decorated contemporary apartment. The front bedrooms were big and airy and well furnished, loved the superking sized bed!
Kitchen was fab, all new and pristine, with everything you need if you feel like eating in and watching a film in the "home cinema" or relaxing in the hot tub after.
Lovely to be so near to the sea and not too far to trot into Whitstable with the quaint shops and restaurants.
Thanks to Michelle & Chris for looking after us again. We had high expectations after staying at Honey Cottage, we were not disappointed and felt it was good value for the cost. 13.07.09-17.07.09
